North of the Bent Pyramid, the Low Pyramid is the first true pyramid built. It is composed of level courses that meet at an apex positioned over the center of the base. The three pyramids at [P 002&P051 / Giza] [V 003 / follow this pattern]. Nevertheless, the Low Pyramid is unusual in that the height is less than half the base, resulting in the sides rising at less than 45 degrees (square pitch).
